An Epic of Biblical Proportions
Rating (4)

The New Testament is basically about Jesus (God's son - duh!) and his deeds back in the day. Roughly about half of the book is about Jesus's doings, his life, and his message; while the remainder is about the struggles of post-Christ Christians establishing their faith and spreading the word. I especially found the Jesus half (the Gospels, I think) interesting to read as it was refreshing to get to grips with issues of faith, God and Jesus without the influence of others (all those different institutions who pimp different and often contradictory morals etc.) telling me what I should or should not be taking from this book and how it relates to me. It's a little trippy in places and sometimes I didn't know if I should be taking what is written as literal or metaphorical e.g. - it took me a while to figure out that Jesus was the lamb being spoken about in Revelations! That aside, I think it is an essential read for those that want to better their understanding of God, Jesus, and Christianity. In terms of dimensions, the book itself is the same size as most paperback novels so it will sit well on your bookshelf. It's also printed on the usual paperback type of paper and not that flimsy stuff that the Old Testament is. At this price and at around three hundrded pages, this book is great value. Read it.
