A Book For Language Lovers

The maps in this book show the distribution of different word usage and pronunciations throughout England (but not the UK). Lots of interesting stuff, that requires no knowledge of linguistics to understand.

Do you say Autumn or Fall? Do you pronounce Tuesday as [tu:zdei] or [tju:zdei] ? Would you usually say, "Give me it!" OR "Give it me!" OR "Give it to me!". These are the sorts of language usage that the maps help to illustrate. The left hand page has the map and the right page the notes and explanations.
