This course is the best by far that I have used to learning Dutch. It has very vast and detailed content, and everything is so easy to follow for me. I'm trying to get this book as my own now that I keep having to borrow it from a library.
The reason this item lost a star from my review, is the ridiculous price. It's insanely expensive, the CD alone costs a hundred euros if I were to buy it locally. Then again I can't find anything that is even half as good as this book is.

Indeed, this is an intensive course and intensive it is . I m still amazed at all the informations that have been crammed inside that textbook. because the book does not provide the keys to the numerous exercises, i would not recommend it for somebody who wants to learn Dutch from scratch (For that go for the great and fun Teach yourself Dutch by the same authors as this textbook)
BUT,,,, if you already have a knowledge of dutch (or like me, speak Afrikaans) and are mainly trying to brush up your Dutch or convert your knowledge of Afrikaans into Dutch.... don t look further. This textbook will deliver what you are looking for ..
Get yourself the audio recording that comes with .. They are very useful for the oral exercises and the numerous texts that have been recorded, giving you the chance to practice your listening and understanding skills
