After 20 years as a Psychology Lecturer, this is perhaps the best written introductory Psychology text I have ever seen. I have never seen subjects like Discursive Psychology and Object Relations Theory effectively presented at this level until now! Every student should own a copy.

Logically organised, lively style, consise and extremely enjoyable to read for a beginner to the subject. I study the AS level and have found it more than invaluable. A must buy if you are doing the Edexcel AS and a good read if you are not. Excellent

Jarvis et al. have succeeded in producing an AS level text which I, as a psychology student, found both attractive and useful. The wide range of key studies makes learning theories easier as it is more enjoyable and memorable. I found the regular questions allowed me to test my understanding of the book. Overall I found this a refreshing change to the traditional dry textbooks to which I am accustomed.
