An ad for the author's university course?

The author is a criminologist at a certain university in Australia. His book mentions some of the accurate assessments as made by one - Brent Turvey. Turvey happens to lecture at the same university, and happens to provide a glowing foreword mentioning the necessity of this book.Despite their relevant - academic, employment, teaching, consulting, and publishing experience - the criminal profiling course that was on offer at the university has been recently removed from its website. There was no recognition nor accreditation for the course, but it sure did cost a lot. The contents of this book are fragmented, and come across as over-simplified. It does not satisfy the gap between myth and criminal profiling. I'd strongly recommend David Owen's book Crime Psych (ABC Books, 2004) as an alternative. He's not a criminal profiler, but a reasearcher AND author - par excellence.
