Know not of 24 do I, but this book I must read. Three weeks it takes me. Many disturbances do I sense in it's pages. Wise is the author in the way of the series. Watch it carefully he must. Yet starngely empty it is. Lacking in depth it is. Do better he must. Do or do not. There is no try.

Jack Bauer would not like it

I have a great affinity with 24. Jack Bauer and i have led similar lives. I looked forward to this book, but it was nothing more than a trite attempt at an episode guide. I did not like that. It made me sad. I have mimed a more descriptive episodic synopsis than that many many many times. Terrible.

Black Caesar has never been big fan of Television. 24 an exception. Stylish pacing and heart stopping action. This book delivers none of those things and cheapens the genre. Very tedious and formulaic. A book that will not be making the trip to Malagasay with me. No, sir.

Another look on season 1

This book does provides a guide that covers the first hour to the last, with a summary of each episode, things to look out for, bits of trivia, and background information on both the show and things like the American electoral process (which is good for non-US audiences). However, what makes it interesting is the fact that, rather than reviewing the episode (reviews can be found somewhere else), the author brings up a series of topics such as the effects of Sept. 11 on the first episodes of the show and on TV in the US as a whole. A sort of real-life connection that -- inadvertedly -- gave "24" an entirely different edge. A good read for long-time fans for reminiscing purposes and a nice recap for the new ones. The only flaw is the lack of photos and a further look behind the scenes.

This "Guidebook" was done in a hurry, and it shows: It does'nt contain much more then Then a narration of the first season episodes. No Intervies, no look behind the scenes, nothing but the quite irrelevant musings of the author about topics whitch are very loosly relateted to each episode. Very disapointing.
