This excellent new dictionary has a very wide range of entries covering the last two centuries or so - the topics covered include people, political events, important legislation, social unrest and war. The dictionary is more interesting and useful than others as the author has wisely opted to provide some interpretation, analysis and opinion alongside the essential facts.

Sixth form students, undergraduates and amateur historians will all find a wealth of useful and accurate information in the book, as well as ideas for further reading.
