Pugh manages to give a broad overhaul of British History from 1789 without elaborating. Most books fail to do this and as a result bore you and put you off the subject. It is fun to read and it is the first book that has got me interested in British History. Any student of History would find this to be a very useful study aid and I would highly recommend it.
