Buckley does his utmost to present history from as many different angles as possible- charting the causes for events as given by as many sources as possible- while also giving summaries of the main arguments from modern scholars. This book is useful both to the student and to anyone interested in Classical Greek History, clearly and concisely explaining and supporting with close refence to original texts the course of history in Ancient Greece from the Origional Settlements in 1000 BC, to the Persian Invasions, the Peloponnesian War and The rise and fall of Alexander- a cracking good account, objective and informative, I fully recommend it.
