Amazon.co.uk Review
The wedding day scenario in Jane Moore's second novel, The Ex-Files is brilliant. "Take a bride and groom, several relatives, four 'exes', mix with alcohol, and stand well back. Boom." Add in wickedly funny asides from a gay best friend and "explosive" doesn't even begin to cover it. So it's hardly a surprise that high-flying, high-maintenance model Fay Parker's dream of her big day doesn't quite go according to plan. From the very first page it's clear that things in the matrimonial garden are far from rosy. Fay is indulging in a little pre-wedding infidelity: "She fumbled with his shirt buttons," and 10 seconds later regretted it: "what exactly was she doing?" So the gorgeous stranger with the intriguing X-factor is sent packing. But be assured we haven't seen the last of him, he turns up at the wedding weekend in a very compromising position. Fay's intended is the lovely Mark, and his "exes" are Jenna, a sweetheart from school, and "feisty, opinionated" Kate. Mark and Kate lived happily together until the stress of Mark's job (as a chef) got in the way. He moved out "wondering if he'd done the right thing". But then he met beautiful, perfect Fay and fell head-over-heels in love. Or, at least he thinks he has. Needless to say Fay and Mark have unresolved issues, especially when the identity of Fay's handsome X-factor stranger is revealed. Cue tears, tantrums and some much-needed emotional honesty, before all is resolved. But who marries whom? Now that would be telling. --Eithne Farry

Another gem from the pen of Jane Moore...who along with Garry Johnson - Sue Evison - Garry Bushell is a member of The Fab Four...a SUN journalist who can write a best-selling blockbuster.
This book will hit a note and strike a chord with all of us who have Loved & Lost...

A Real-life X

As a real-life X myself I wasn`t sure how I would find this book or why my new love bought it for me this Christmas. But Donna was right, this is a book that can help heal wounds and get you to see the funny side of a break-up.
My ex-wife was the true love of my life , and a huge part of me still loves her , and I will never get over losing her , "sorry Donna" , but if my ex knocked on the door now I would welcome her back into my life with open arms.
And this book has helped me to understand my mixed emotions , I can`t wait to see the movie version , with Patsy Kensit in the starring role.

Too predictable for my liking

I had high hopes for this book as plot sounded intriguing......inviting your ex's to your wedding.....why would anyone want to! But it sounded like an explosive mix so I thought I'd give it a go. What I found was a mildly entertaining book but I was disappointed at the clichéd way it all unfolded. I could predict what was going to happen after only a few chapters and only finished the book to prove myself right. I think half the problem is that I just didn't like the characters. Fay sounded like a spoilt brat with a high opinion of herself who bullied everyone to get her own way. Mark on the other hand sounded like a complete sap who couldn't stand up for himself. I just found both of them irritating.
All in all the Ex Files was just an ok read and but not one I'd rave about to friends.

As recent fan of Jane Moore books, I was pleased to read yet another excellent book. I was utterly engrossed in the story, and genuinely intrigued about the ending. I recommend this book for on holiday, as it is a very compelling read and housework is unlikely to be done until it is finished.
