Good but obvious....

I think maybe I bought this book expecting too much (probably a common problem for books of this type). As you can probably guess, I haven't found the person of my dreams after reading this (although I live in hope!). The main problem with it (apart from not telling you some amazing secret to finding someone) is that the advice is all a bit too obvious, and when you've finished reading it you kind of think "well I knew all that already". Also the sections on newer forms of dating (such as online or speed dating) are a bit thin in comparisson with more traditional methods. On the plus side the earlier sections are particularly good for helping you deal with negative feelings surrounding being single (made me feel like less of a freak anyway!), it's very well written and enjoyable to read and the advice is at least sound. Would probably give it 3 and a half stars if I could. Overall it's helpful, just don't expect too much.
