This has to be one of the most important texts of the 20 Century. A massive two volumes, setting out the philosophy behind the theory and then the theory itself in such incredible (and non judgemental or intrepretive) detail. The text often feels dry but if you live it, its like a cross between Sartre, with his belief in ulimate choice, with Camus with an understanding of the real weight of 'choices'. He says the universe has meaning, though we may not know what. He says no man needs to be the victim of his own biography. And then the book gives you the theory and tools to try to apply affectively, to others and to yourself. This is a personal theory and maybe just too ahead of its time? A real visionary and maybe those who have said it feels clinical or 'cold' have not really let what he was saying really resonate. The books are over 130pounds for two volumes, but you try and find one second hand and its v hard as no one who reads it and understands it will ever part with it. Life changing. " A persons processes are psychologically chanellized by the ways in which they anticipate events"
