What a treasure. This is the essential handbook for anyone who loves music, history or travelling. Beautifully written, stylishly produced, absolutely comprehensive, the book offers a great mixture of practical information and personal insights. The Sadies write in such a way that anyone from an expert to someone with little knowledge will be immediately engaged by their accessible and erudite style. One realises, particularly from the touching Epilogue, that they have travelled to every museum themselves, and care passionately about the endeavour. A real find - I don't think anything else like it exists, and I very much doubt that it could be bettered.
