Very disappointing Rating (2) Date: 2006-03-09 4 out of 4 customers found this reveiw helpful First impressions are very disappointing. This book is far from the quality of cookery books I'm used to. - There are no pictures - The instructions are all in American language (measures in cups, oven temparature in farenheit etc) with no conversion section or helpful hints - Huge emphasis on "canola oil", which seems to be used as a substitute for butter and is in nearly every receipe. I had never heard of canola oil so did a google search - the first 3 sites I got were all warnings against using canola (ie rapeseed oil) as allegedly it is toxic and should only be used for industrial purposes. Great! I was so looking forward to this book arriving. I have really missed good puds since giving up dairy. This might help - but I think the search will have to continue.

Easy and Delicious Rating (5) Date: 1999-01-12 11 out of 11 customers found this reveiw helpful I was so happy when a friend gave me this book to try on my son who is lactose intoelrant and can't usually enjoy the desserts we all take for granted. The ingredients are available in any supmarket. (no specialty store searching with Julia necessary here!) He couldn't believe me at first, but loved every bite. We especially loved the Mocha Jake Cake.

I have never been able to find a cookbook of this nature that had such a wide variety of dairy free desserts. All are incredibly delicious. This book was worth every penny!
