From a VB programmers point of view this book is nothing short of excellent! I am required to learn the C language for embedded programming - a daunting task considering that the only language I am really familiar with is Basic. Two days of reading this book provided me with enough confidence to proceed with the embedded project. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone familiar with another language and wishing to learn C.

Poorly edited.

This book could have been an essential read but it is absolutely riddled with mistakes - both in the code examples and the main text which must break some sort of record for the number of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes per page. If you want to buy it, write to the publishers first and ask them to edit it properly; then wait for the next edition.

Lightweight and unclear

This book pretends to be an easy introduction to 'C' programming, but the author's style makes any information it contains hard to follow. It also deals with things on a very superficial level. There are much better books for a beginner out there.

Mastering god's language in one easy book!

This book is more like a C++ definative dictionary. Every command covered,(simply and quickly) along with syntax examples. Forget learning in 21 days, learn in 5 hours with ease. oh and its small at 300 pages :)
