If you're going to buy just one text for AVCE ICT units 1-3 (the AS Level), either as a tutor or a student, this book is a must. It's all that most students will need (apart from applying themselves to doing the work!).Past students, colleagues, and I cannot rate this book highly enough. It's clear. It's accurate. It's well-structured. It's a bargain!

I was very happy with this book easy to follow examples and tasks which shows and teaches new skills easily. The spreadsheets Unit was very easy and quick to follow.

ICT books have never been exciting, and never will be. This book is no exception. However it isn't boring, which is vital when taking a course like this. If you work through the book it will teach you vital skills, and will show you functions you never know existed! The book is more than adequate at being the only source of data (other than the course specification) that you will require to achieve an A grade in this course. No other book on the market will be more useful than this to your course.In short, if you are taking this course, buy this book.

The book is very good, covers everything you need to know for the first year in units 1-3. It explains technical information like Management information systems and down to how to write a fax. I highly recommend it to any taking AVCE ICT in their first year.
