What can I say?

The biggest problem with this manga is the language, I had to read the first book three times before I understood what was happening. The fan service is, well, quite frankly strange, the fighting scenes and artwork are decent but the nudity just appears random and IT IS NOT FUNNY, the main character simply appears stupid, if you hated this don't read "Battle Club" (it's even worse).

You'll have to get past the crotch shots and exploding shirts...

Based loosely on the stories of the heroes of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Battle Vixens tells the story of a Tokyo subculture devoted to battle, power and the goal of becoming the most powerful warrior.

The protagonist is your average ditzy blonde who happens to be a pretty decent fighter, and the series follows her path through this savage and brutal world. The other characters have substance, wit and humour.

My only issue is with the ecchi nature of the series - i find the crotch shots unessecary and can detract from the quality of the series, but once you get past that you come to appretiate how the plot, characters and artwork.

Artwork: Good cityscapes, and very energetic fight scenes.
Plot: Takes reading more than once to appretiate fully, but takes your average fantasy epic into urban settings.

This is Manga at it's most purile, yet it's great fun.
Loaded from the rafters with 'Fan Service' it's nothing but a thinly veiled excuse for gratuitous crotch shots and bare breasts.

The premis goes that the spirits of warriors from ages past inhabit the bodies of teenagers who have an instinct to fight (and frequently get off on it). Their losses and victories affect their level within this sub-society and they're constantly battling for suprememcy.

Our heroin is a cute big chested girl of very little brain and it seems that whoever she fights, male or female, the first thing they do is rip her blouse off. The story follows her initiation into this culture and follows her as she comes into her power.

So, lots of fighting, decent to very good art work it's only downsides are a sometimes difficult to follow story and the teenage male target audience level to the whole thing which will put many off. If cartoons of boobs and knickers isn't entirely distasteful to you then may well enjoy this though.
