A laugh out loud opening to one of the best mangas around

Sgt Frog (or Keroro Gunsou as it is sometimes called) is one of the funniest mangas from Japan in recent times. Written by Mine Yoshizaki the first book contains the first 11 chapters in the series and introduces the main characters, innocent, occulant loving Fuyuki Hinata and his athletic 'save-the-world' sister Natsummi Hinata when they encounter Sergeant Keroro a sorta frog like alien sent to take over the world.
Needless to say stuff happens and eventually Keroro ends up doing general menial jobs for the family but he constantly attempts to break out of this prison, defeat Natsumi and take over the world. The manga is well written, well translated and generally just plain funny with many wacky, zany characters and plenty of fan-service out there as well for those that like that sort of thing.
The only reason i might mark this down is that the version shipped clearly has several pages that should be in colour but we get the standard black and white versions which seems a shame when other mangas do have some colour pages dotted inside them. Nevertheless this is an excellent series and I would highly recommend purchasing the first three books to see if you like it.
