Remote starts with Kurumi Ayaki one of mangas most loveable female characters being told she will have to go back to work in order for her and her fiance to be able to pay for a wedding that has got financially out of hand. So Kurumi goes back to work at the police department the next day asking for her job back. Unfortunately her role as a traffic warden is no longer available. So she is transfered to the Criminal Investigation Department to work as the eyes and ears for the detective genius Himuro who is unable to leave his basement at home. Realistically Kurumi is very under qualified for the job but her determination and ability to tolerate her mentor gets her through.
There is humour as Himuro encourages Kurumi to abandon a young boy who has been knocked over by a car in favour of "the greater good" solving the case. Even more humour comes with Kurumi's fiance Shingo as he tries to spend that first wonderful night with Kurumi.
I very good and well developed character list, with the gulable Kurumi being persuaded into helping Himuro to solve a dark and devious crime with clues for the next murder being left with the previous and Kurumi being closer to the end than she realises.
This has been rated for over 16 and with relatively good reason as it does contain death and "fan service" as us manga enthusiast like to call it.
