Great if you want a proper ending

This manga ai Yori Aoshi is a great manga, I decided to get this only because I had seen the anime version of ai yori aoshi and ai yori aoshi enishi, but because those two anime versions didn't really give the feeling of finishing I decided to go for the manga version. Now this does finish which the finishing of this manga I preferred and doesn't leave any unanswered questions either.

I ended up giving this a 4 out of 5 because of one reason, about volumes 1-9 it follows the plot of the ai yori aoshi and enishi plots so it was some what repetitive for me, however after volume 9 everything is new which was worth the purchase.

I must say though that the manga version did surprise me because in comparison to the anime, the manga version is well to put it one way a bit more perverted, in the sense that the characters are naked and you do see their full top to boy nudity. unlike the anime which doesn't show that. be warned though the later volumes do explicitly say for 15+.

I've read a wide number of different mangas such as A.I. Love You, The Files of Young Kindaichi, Densha Otoko version 1 and 2, The Imperfect Hero, Pastel, Crossroads, Love Hina, Maison Ikkoku, Suzuka, and Strawberry Panic. Out of all these's I'd say in terms of the harem genre, Ai Yori Aoshi is probably one of my most favourite, its not too long in manga volumes, yet not too short like Love Hina, Maison Ikkoku and Suzuka. So I'd definitely recommend this for people who are looking for their first Harem type manga.

Very Funny & Touching Romantic Comedy Manga

This is a seventeen-volume manga, originally seralized in a Japanese manga magazine, and has also been adapted into two TV anime seasons (one had 24 episodes, the other tweleve).

A young man called Karou Hanabishi has resign himself to going through his college years alone when he runs into a childhood sweetheart he hasn't seen since leaving home. Her name is Aoi Sakuraba. So begins their long but funny and romantic tale.

Having already read some previous manga (AKIRA [1982-1990] and BATTLE ROYALE [2000-2005]), I wanted to try out a manga that was different, and AI YORI AOSHI was the one. There's no violence, no explosions and no annoying yellow-coloured mouses that spark electricity, just a funny and touching romantic comedy about two young people.

Excellent. I'm going to continue buying the volumes.

As a very slow reader, I thoroughly enjoyed the pace at which you can read this book. This I read in just a day; not because there was no depth to the story, but because of the layout in which Manga is presented. However, I spent days simply looking at the artwork in the book. This book is not only beautiful visually, but with the emotion and culture that is put into the story so well, you'll want to experience the romance between the two main characters over and over again. There is not one negative thing I can say and I will treasure this book forever.

I have already bought Volume 2, I suggest you do the same. :)

This Manga falls into the "harem" genre with books like love hina due to the fact that it involves 1 guy doted over by a number of girls. However what sets this apart from the other manga of its type is the fact that from the start the leading guy (kaoru) has already gotten into a relationship with the female lead (aoi).

Their releationship however has to remain a secret by order of Aoi's wealthy family due to circumstances that surround how kaoru and aoi met wen they were children, and were arranged to be married.

This series is full of dirty humor and romantic bits to balance it out and unlike love hina it keeps one foot firmly planted in reality. I would reccomend this to fans of the works of Ken akematsu or Rumiko takahashi.
