Rave Master = Love

Rave Master is one of my favourite animes and mangas.Haru Glory is a normal 16-year-old boy, until one day when he is fishing he finds a strange carrot nosed dog: "plue". Plue leads him to a battle where an old man gives him a sword shaped stone and tells him that he is the new "Rave Master". Haru is confused, but easily beats the man's attackers using the power of the Rave. Soon he is pulled into a quest top find his destiny while fighting the Shadow Guard. He meets new companions, the super-cute and happy amnesiac Elie, cool and confident theif Musica and the weird blue thing, Griff. Haru's tale is fantastic. I loved the plot, plus there are sections of action and humor as well. They might even be a bit of romance beteween Haru and Elie *hint hint*. For the love of God, if you haven't already bought this manga or seen the anime, your life is not complete. It's that good.

a laugh out loud-every shonen fan should read this!

After seeing the first series of the Ravemaster tv show I just had to go out and buy the manga-and I wasn't dissapointed with what I got! This volume focuses on events that happen before the TV show starts (similar to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Shaman King in that respect) and show us how a teenager named Haru meets an old man who tells him he is the new Ravemaster, and that he must learn to use the powers of the Rave sword to save his village, and the world, from disaster. It also shows us how he first met a very cute little, um, creature named Plue. (Haru first named the little guy "Shabutaro" which naturally had everyone in his village falling about shrieking with laughter when they heard it 0_0) This is a typical shonen comic; the art focuses more on action sequences and humurous detail (Haru's jop drops about ten feet when he first finds Plue attached to his fishing line!) and less on big eyes and cute outfits-not to say that girls won't enjoy this book. I personally found the chapter page featuring a giant image of Plue sitting with a lollipop so delightful that I showed it to a few of my girl friends who all squealed with joy and declared that they wanted to borrow my copy of Ravemaster! ^^ It's a very light hearted, fun story with enough exciting sword-fighting scenes and potential promise of adventures to come to attract most anime/manga fans; be they boys or girls. I can't wait for volume two where we finally meet Elie! Great series, great book. 5 stars!

Diffrent,but very cool manga

Rave master is a very funny, and very cool story, however the story isnt something that i am used to as i particually like martial arts sort of manga,... I firt saw Rave master on toonami on sky ,i thought it looked different, the story seemd interesting and i especially like the art, mind i only ever saw about 1 or 2 episodes but it certainly gets you interested quickly,.So the story is about Haru a 16 year old lad who only has his sister left as his mum,Sakura died when he was younger and his dad left when he was about 4 or 5 years old,but everthing is happy go lucky on garage island where haru has lived all his life with his sister and there bizzare plant called Nakijima....A talking plant.so anyway the story is about the evil orginization Demon card, who posses the power of Dark bring, magical stones capable of ultra-mega destrucion and Rave stone their are 5 of these in total and as you might have guessed these are the good ones, which can only be used by the Rave master which just happens to be Haru the second rave master in history,so Haru sets of on a quest to find the 4 remaining Rave stones, their are 5 in total Haru has one, they all have different abilities whis Haru can put in to his sword Eisenmeteor and the sword morphs into that particular matter.I think this is quite a good manga and is worth a read.
