I have found this book a valuable addition to the family library. It is a very basic step-by-step biology textbook aimed at GCSE level. It has simple but clear illustrations and diagrams and the text is simple but not patronising. At the end of each section are questions which facilitate learning and a very useful glossary of terms. This book has been well read by my children whilst at secondary school. However,I am a BSc midwifery student and have also found the chapters on humans, health disease and medicine very useful alongside degree level books on Anatomy and Physiology when I have needed to brush up on the basics. I have recommended this book to many student nurses and Access students.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
