This story about an Irish lad Benny who has to move to Tuunisia with his family and meets a local lad Omar, will leave you spellbound. I could not put this book down until I had finished it. It will leave you in tears at the end. Having visited Tunisia many times, I have to say the book is totally accurate and portrays the country and especially Sfax, exactly as life is there still in 2007.
Highly recommended.

This book is about a young boy who moves to Africa. He doesn't give the place a chance and he hates it until he meets Omar,a Tunisian boy who can only speak the words he has heard on TV.A frindship blossoms but it also leeds them into a lot of trouble..... An excellent book with loads of laughs.

Well worth a read

Benny and Omar is a great story about Benny(an Irish boy who loves hurling) and Omar(an Africa orphan living alone) Benny moves to Africa with his family because his father has to work there. He misses his friends in Ireland but the thing he misses most is hurling. He meets Omar who lives in a shed outside the village on his own, and watches a load of satelite TV. Omar can't speak english but he communicates in TV phrases. They become great friends and have loads of adventures together. This book is very good and well worth a read.
