Refreshing for Blyton

Although still extremely popular, many of Enid Blyton's book seem dated these days, especially her school stories like the Malory Towers and St Clare's series. The Naughtiest Girl books have aged relatively well. The school presented here is not your typical boarding school, it is run on much more radical lines with pupils providing control and discipline, rather than teachers. The school, like Hogwarts, is also co-educational which makes more sense to the majority of today's school children.

An entertaining story about a naughty 'but nice' little girl

This is the story about Elizabeth, who is struggling to show everyone at her boarding school that she has changed from her first year there, and is now a "model pupil"! Of course, circumstances prevent her from being good ALL the time, but in true Enid Blyton fashion, things all turn out right in the end! I loved this book as a child, and have already bought it so that one day my daughters can enjoy it too!
