Excellent starting point for a much discussed subject

This is an excellent reader for anyone interested in Alexander the Great, its level is that of an A level student or general interest reader so don't expect the in-depth research of a university tome. The first chapter starts with a review of the original sources and goes through the main areas of study such as Alexander in Babylon, the conquests in the East, his assumption of the mantle of a God and ends with a review of what might have been if he had not taken the movie stars option and died so famously and for ever young. This is a really good introduction to the main themes of Alexander study, and has a very concise bibliography to use to explore the subject matter. So all in all the book is an excellent, informative and brief overview of a subject which has filled many, many shelves on library shelves throughout the world.
