I thought this was a marvellous book. It's so interesting to read a first hand account of what it was really like to be in the WRNS during WW2. It made me feel both admiration for Roxane and her colleagues, for all they experienced and the bravery they showed, and also a little bit of envy, because it all sounds like great fun as well.
A coming of age story, a wartime account, and a wonderful insight into an often overlooked aspect of our recent history. Highly recommended.
