Summary of earlyer books, less personal aspects

For Valour by Bryan Perrett seems more like a summary of his brilliant earlier books which so far are unreached (Armoured Fist, Last Stand, Impossible Victories ect.).
This book is heating up his old subjects with a focus on the Victoria Cross and the US medal of Honour. The chapters re-chew the well know battles starting with the Crimea and mention the medal winners at the end, nearly as a sideline. No space wasted on the usual in-depth looks at characters, like we where used to in the old books.
Hero character analysis was the special touch in the old books.
In this book we're just supplied with a date and maximum 3 lines to flesh out the name. 99% of the book being battle descriptions.
For someone who doesn't know Perrett a good choice, to get in to the subject...for us old loyal readers a waste of money.
Better off to go and reread the old books.
